Basics

What is LoopList?

LoopList is for AI creators to get noticed. You list your AI product, app or newsletter, prove it's yours, and exchange links with other builders. Every visit is a real person, verified, so the support is real. Nobody pays for ads.

How do I list my site?

Sign up with your email (we send you a code, no password needed), go to My properties and fill in the name, web address, a short description and a category. You'll then see two quick steps to verify it. Once both are done, your listing goes live in the directory.

Which categories can I pick?

There are 14: AI agents and automation; Chatbots and assistants; Coding and dev tools; Writing and content; Image and design; Video and animation; Voice, audio and music; Productivity and work; Marketing and sales; Data and research; Education and learning; Companions and characters; Newsletters and media; and Other.

Each listing has a main category and can have a second one, so it shows up under both in the directory. If we moved your listing to Other when we changed the categories, you'll see Pick a better category on your dashboard.

How much does it cost?

Nothing. There's no charge to use LoopList at the moment, and no paid plans to pick from.

Verification

How does verification work?

Paste our one-line script on your site and we'll confirm it's there. Copy it from your property page and put it in your homepage's HTML, ideally just before </head>. Then press Check my site. We load your homepage and look for the script with your listing's ID. Finding it proves the site is yours, and your listing goes live.

If you add scripts with a tag manager or JavaScript, we can't see them in your page code. Just contact us and we'll check it by hand.

The script also matters after that: it's how your site sends real, checked clicks to your exchange partners.

Do you keep checking after I'm verified?

Yes. Once a day we check that the script is still on your site. If we can't find it for 7 days in a row, your listing is taken out of the directory, the newsletter and link exchanges, and we send you one email about it. As soon as we see the script again, your listing comes back on its own.

Sites that were verified before the script step existed get 14 days to add it. The property page shows the deadline.

What happens if I change my domain?

Changing to a different domain means you have to verify again: we need to find the script on the new domain. Your listing is paused from the LoopList network until the new domain is verified, and its website preview is cleared. We warn you and ask you to confirm before saving.

Privacy

What does the script collect?

The script runs in the background and doesn't change how your site looks. To tell real people from bots, it checks a different mix of signals each visit, like scrolling and time on the page. It only collects anonymous totals, never what people type or exactly how they move their mouse.

It doesn't set cookies. Visitor IP addresses are scrambled with a code that changes every day. If a visitor has asked browsers not to track them, we only count their click, and delete the small check that stops it being counted twice within 48 hours.

How do you tell real people from bots?

Several layers, and a click has to pass all of them to count. We check the browser for signs of automation tools, and we measure time on the page plus a randomly chosen mix of behaviour, like scrolling and mouse movement, so a script can't know what's being checked. Each visit gets a score from 0 to 100 and needs 30 or more.

The check-in from the page is signed, works once, and only from the same network and browser that clicked, so it can't be copied or replayed. Clicks from cloud servers, the same visitor clicking again that day, and sudden bursts of clicks don't count either. Clicks are scored about 30 minutes after they happen.

Ranking

What is the engagement score?

It's how we rank listings, and it looks at the last 30 days. In plain words:

You get points for real clicks you send to your exchange partners, worth between half a point and a full point each depending on how real they look. Each click from a newsletter reader on your listing is worth half a point. And each real visit you make yourself to another member's site, from the directory or from your newsletter, is worth a full point.

As a formula: clicks you sent × (0.5 + quality ÷ 200) + 0.5 × newsletter clicks + 1 × your confirmed visits. If you own several listings, your visit points are shared between them.

What do the badges like 'High engagement' mean?

They're a friendly way to show the score without showing the number. High engagement means the top 20% of listings that have any score. Active means a score of 2 or more. Rising means a score above zero. New means no score yet and verified in the last 14 days. Older listings with no score don't get a badge.

How are the directory and the newsletter ordered?

Both use exactly the same ranking, so they always agree: highest engagement score first. When scores are tied, the listing verified earliest comes first, then alphabetical order. Category filters only narrow that list, they never reorder it. Nobody can pay to move up.

Do my visits to other listings count?

Yes, a lot. When you're signed in and visit another member's site from the directory, or from a link in your LoopList newsletter, each visit is worth a full point, the same as a good click you send.

A visit counts when the other site's LoopList script confirms it was really you reading: it passes the bot checks and the page was open for at least 10 seconds. It counts once per site per day, up to 10 sites a day, and visits to your own listings never count. If your browser sends a do-not-track signal we don't measure the visit, so it won't earn points.

What happens if someone uses bots?

Fake traffic is simply not counted. That's all that happens when bots hit a site, so nobody can get you in trouble by sending bots at your site or your links.

We only hold it against you when the evidence points to you: automated visits from your own signed-in account or your own newsletter links, clicking links that credit you from your own connection, or two members repeatedly clicking each other's links with the same visitors. If that happens a few times in two weeks, your score is temporarily lowered and recovers over 14 days. Repeated or serious cases go to a person for review. Only a person can take a listing down, and we'll email you if that happens. If you think we got it wrong, just reply and we'll look again.

Worried about copycats?

Every listing page shows a public Listed since date: the day the listing was first verified on LoopList. It never moves later, even if you re-verify, so anyone can see who launched first. If you think another listing copies yours, use Report this listing on it, choose Copying another member's product, and add a link to your listing. A person compares the two.

Link exchanges

Can LoopList find link exchanges for me automatically?

Yes. Switch on 'Find exchanges for me automatically' on My properties. Once a day we pair your listing with another member's listing in the same category that gets a similar amount of real traffic, so small sites aren't paired with much bigger ones. We email you both, and you can end any exchange in one click from your property page. Once you end one, we never match that pair again.

It's for listings that already get real traffic. A listing qualifies when it's verified, the LoopList script is live on the site, it's listed in the directory, it has no active score penalty, it has had at least 10 real visits in the last 30 days (sent or received through LoopList), and its engagement score is at least 2. Each listing can have up to 3 automatic exchanges at a time. We check every day: if a listing drops below the bar, new automatic matches pause and your current exchanges stay. If you don't qualify yet, My properties shows what's missing and how close you are. You can always send requests yourself from the directory.

What is 'Visitors you've sent / Visitors sent to you'?

For each partner, it shows how many real, counted visitors you've sent them and how many they've sent you, and the difference. It shows at a glance whether an exchange is fair.

Widgets & looks

What are promo widgets?

Small ready-made blocks you paste onto your site once: a scrolling ticker, a single site card, or a short list of sites. They show your exchange partners automatically and rotate each time, showing partners you owe clicks to more often. They use your tracked exchange links, so clicks count. Pick a style, theme and size on your property page, see a live preview, and copy the snippet. You can match your site's look with CSS variables. If you have no partners yet, the widget stays hidden.

Can I add a logo?

Yes. Upload one on your property page: a square image, at least 256 × 256 px (512 × 512 looks sharpest). PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG, up to 1 MB. Transparent backgrounds work best. Smaller images, down to 32 × 32 px, are accepted but may look blurry. It's shown on your directory card and in your partners' widgets. If you don't add one, we show your site's own icon, or your first letter.

Where do the website previews come from?

When your listing is verified, we take a screenshot of your homepage, usually within 15 minutes, and refresh it every week. It shows on your directory card and property page. You can ask for a fresh one with Refresh screenshot (up to 3 times an hour). We never capture sites that point to private or internal addresses.

Agents

Can an AI agent manage my listings?

Yes. In My properties, under Agent tokens, create a token for your agent. By default it can add, edit and remove any of your listings, and run the verification check. You can restrict it to only the listings it created. Agents can't touch your account, link exchanges, newsletter settings or other tokens. You can set an expiry date or revoke a token at any time. The full guide is on the For agents page.

What if an agent deletes something by mistake?

Listings removed by an agent aren't deleted straight away. They appear under Recently removed by agents on your dashboard, and you can restore them for 7 days. After that they're deleted for good. Listings you delete yourself are removed immediately.

Account

What's in the newsletter, and can I choose?

Each issue lists the top 50 verified listings, in exactly the same order as the directory, with a link at the end to see the rest in the directory.

You can choose which categories you get. Go to My properties and pick them under Newsletter, or use the Change what you get link at the bottom of any LoopList email (that works without logging in). You get all categories unless you change it, and you need to keep at least one. Your issue is the same ranking with only your categories, so the numbers start at 1 but the order never changes. To stop the emails altogether, unsubscribe instead.

How do I unsubscribe from the newsletter?

Use the one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom of any LoopList email, or untick the newsletter box on My properties. Unsubscribing only stops the emails: your listings stay in the directory. We only send the newsletter to members who ticked the box to get it, and you can opt back in whenever you like.
